These
photos will provide a
glimpse into the unique aspects of the Clingman's Dome climb.
This climb
is truly a beautiful ride. The first 20 miles wind through the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and
follow the Little River almost the entire way. The final 20.6
miles
lifts
you to an elevation of 6350. You ride under the canopy of trees
until the
final eight miles and then you enjoy the fruits of your labor with
spectacular
mountain views. The climb ends in the visitor center parking lot
(elevation
6350). The actual peak (elevation 6643) is accessible by a .5
mile hike
on a paved path.
