These photos will provide a glimpse into the
unique aspects of the Grandfather Mountain climb. This is a
beautiful ride. The last few miles inside the park begin mostly
shade covered but give way to virtually no trees for the final mile
leaving breathtaking views along the switchbacks. The climb ends
in the visitor center parking lot (elevation
5250). The actual peak (elevation
5964) is only accessible by hiking.
