These photos will provide a glimpse into the
unique aspects of the Roan Mountain climb. This is a
beautiful ride. The last half of the ride are within Roan
Mountain State Park and the Pisgah National Forest. The grade is
steady all the way up with the steepest section (9%) being the first
1.5 miles. The
climb ends
at the fee station parking lot (elevation
6151). The Roan High Knob peak (elevation
6285) is only accessible by hiking.
